Brief History of the Midtown Drive-In
The Midtown Drive -In was operated in the 50's 60's and 70's as the Roane Drive-In (named for the county in TN in which it resides). After it closed, the property was used for many things for many years with the screen removed and the concession building torn down. Luckily, the Marquee and ticket booth were left standing and seen by Perry Humberd, who has been a Drive-In buff for most of his adult life. Perry and his wife Becky resurrected and rebuilt the Drive-In in 1995 and ran it until 2007. It was sold to Doug Freeman in the Spring of that year and we strive to keep the 50's and 60's atmosphere while running first run double features on the weekends in the Spring Summer and Fall.
